Dingoes
Dingoes are close to being endangered. Many would say they are vulnerable. This is do to hunting and breeding with domesticated dogs. Their population is descending quickly. People have found it difficult to find purebred dingoes because of interbreeding. The Australian government is working on land conservation for the dingoes. Dingoes that live in parks and sanctuaries are protected under the government. If dingoes were to go extinct it would leave a lasting impact on the Australian ecosystem. Sources say if we don’t do something now, dingoes could be extinct in less that 50 years. Some organizations are using techniques such as gene banking and reproduction assistance to help keep purebred dingoes from going extinct.
